About Us
A.R.C.I.A. (Association of Reformed Christians in Action)
was created in 1979 to provide services to seniors, including housing, to members of the supporting churches
in Winnipeg. Land was purchased at Gateway and Knowles and fund raising commenced. Over the years the vision has been maintained and enhanced by dedicated volunteers. Today we are excited to be at a point where dreams become reality.
Our vision has expanded to include not only our founding community, but also the community in general. It’s our goal to provide non-profit, affordable housing, both independent and assisted, in the context of Christian community. As you will see from the building and site plans detailed in our website, the campus will consist of two beautiful buildings, connected by a common "weather proof", "downtown" community space. All of this is set on four acres of landscaped property. Green space, walking paths, patios, and gardens all combine to enhance the living experience. The building and the grounds have been designed to promote community living and personal well being. It’s our conviction that personal well being is enhanced when people live together in a space specifically designed to promote social interaction. Our goal is to provide more than "state of the art" bricks and mortar. We’d like to develop a project where people matter and form part of a caring, supportive, Christian community.
