Design

The Cornerstone is being architecturally designed to produce a quality living environment capable of responding to the desires and needs of older adults. The facilities are separated into “Independent Living” and “Assisted Living” areas, and joined by a common “Downtown” where all residents can interact as a community. Throughout the facility, expansive glazing and sheltered outdoor areas are provided to minimize separation between the building and the site. This design helps promote community, but also overcomes Winnipeg’s harsh weather elements.
